Rambam HaParsha Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
The short version
Rambam HaParsha does not ask for an account, your name, your email or your location. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your saved passages and settings stay on your device.
Who we are
Rambam HaParsha (רמב״ם הפרשה) is made by PowerJews.com ("we"). It is available as a website at rambamhaparsha.powerjews.com and as an Android app on Google Play.
Data the app keeps on your device
- The passages you save (bookmark), so you can find and print them later.
- Your reading settings: language, text size, theme, the works you show, and whether passage previews are on.
- In the Android app only: the days you opened the app (up to the last twelve), used to decide when to show Google Play's rating card at most every few months.
This data is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. We do not send it to our servers, and we do not have servers that receive it. On Android, your phone's own backup (for example to your Google account) may include it so it comes back on a new phone; that backup belongs to you and we never receive it. You can erase it at any time by clearing the app's storage, uninstalling the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser.
Texts and network requests
The Torah text, the Rambam's works and the links between them come from Sefaria's open library. The Android app carries every parasha on the device. The website, and the app for the rare text it does not carry, request texts directly from Sefaria's public API. Like any website, Sefaria and our web host (Netlify) receive your device's IP address and basic request details when this happens; see Sefaria's privacy policy. We do not add any identifier to these requests.
Sharing, links and printing
When you share or copy a passage, the text goes only where you send it, through your device's own share sheet or clipboard. Links to Sefaria and PowerJews open in your browser. Printing or saving a PDF happens on your device.
Weekly reminder
The Android app can show one reminder a week with the new parasha, only if you turn it on (Settings, or the prompt in the app). The reminder is scheduled on your device by Android; nothing is sent to us. It is scheduled for Sunday morning or Thursday midday, away from Shabbos and Yom Tov, and arrives silently; you can turn it off in the app or in Android's notification settings.
Google Play rating
The Android app may show Google Play's in-app rating card. The rating and any review go to Google Play under Google's terms; the app never receives them.
Children
Rambam HaParsha is a general-audience study app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Permissions
The Android app uses internet access, and asks to show notifications only if you turn on the weekly reminder. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or location.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
